Tom Spreutels


Tom is a Managing Director in Citi’s EMEA Corporate Banking, and responsible for EMEA Insurance and Asset Management and UK Financial Institutions franchise.

Tom Spreutels, Managing Director – Head of UK Financial Institutions and EMEA Insurance & Asset Management – Corporate Banking.

He takes direct coverage responsibility for a number of large clients, in addition to his management responsibilities. Tom joined Citi in 1998.  Prior to moving to London in 2005, Tom worked in the Insurance team in Amsterdam and before that worked in Citi’s Brussels office.  He has extensive experience dealing with large cap Financial Institutions and covering their broad banking requirements, including capital markets, financing, strategic hedging activity.  He is particularly focused on financing solutions and balance sheet advisory.

Born in Leuven, Belgium, Tom obtained an MSc in Finance and Engineering from KU Leuven and subsequently obtained an MPhil in Management Studies from Cambridge University.
