Exclusive Networking Event 2018
Warwick Congress’ second Exclusive Networking Event will be hosted at Warwick Business School on 3 November 2017. The first Exclusive Networking Event was held on February 2017 and was attended by 150 delegates. Over 100 students participated in recruitment seminars given by leading firms, including Barclays, Ernst & Young, and DLA Piper.
The event was heralded a resounding success by students who appreciated the interactivity with employers the event offered. This year Warwick Congress is planning to go one step further and ensure the event can become a decisive and inspiring moment in students academic and professional careers.

Networking has increasingly become accessible to a diverse range of students and Warwick Congress Exclusive Networking Event encompasses that notion. A competitive selection process has ensured 120 hand-picked students (320 applicants in total) from various academic disciplines will have the opportunity to participate in assessment centre practices and recruitment type seminars, facilitated by two Finance and two Law firms leading the way in their respective fields.
It’s an exciting time for Warwick Congress, as continued growth following last year’s inauguration has resulted in the attendance of firms familiar as prominent graduate employers. Norton Rose Fulbright, an internationally renowned firm based in 33 countries, and another top-tier law firm, head up the specialist law contingent of firms recently awarded Legal 500 status. They are accompanied by Ernst & Young and and another financial firm who are both multi-national firms leading the way in the finance and professional services sector.
The opportunity to network with representatives from industry leading firms should not go unheralded. Our Warwick Exclusive Networking Event has separated itself from the typical careers’ fair, with interaction being at the heart of the event.
Seminars will delve deeper than interview skills and practice, with the aim of providing insights that go beyond ‘getting to know’ the employer. From portfolio management workshops and business challenges for Asset Management firms to a dedicated contract negotiation workshop tailored to law firms, the event will enable selected students to connect more directly with employers than ever before. In addition, the event is complemented by careers articles from members that have gone on to secure graduate roles and videos from the graduate recruitment team of our partner firms.
Bridging the gap between academic attainment and securing a graduate position is tricky at the best of times. Warwick Congress’ Exclusive Networking Event is here to challenge students perceptions on what it takes to join a leading legal or financial firm, whilst inspiring them to pursue their ambitions thereafter.
